Under the Weather
Talk Like A Pirate Day
Today was the now internationally recognized Talk Like a Pirate Day; here’s to hoping you’ve used it to your advantage in an inappropriate situation. My wife and I have both been mumbling some arrgh’s of our own, sadly for a different reason- we’re both under the weather. It only makes sense, as this old phrase dates back to that of sailors- where you remained under the deck to escape the weather elements above when you hadn’t been feeling well.
My coworkers have been sick, my brother-in-law brought over some cold on Saturday, and we visited a relative in the hospital in Brooklyn Sunday. You factor in the change in the weather, and I suppose we were just asking for it. It especially sucks, since Duane Reade has Michelle working 25 hours a day, 6 days a week (as usual), and I have about 2 months of project due in about 2 weeks.
I’m happy to say I’m an hour or so away from a Nyquil induced haze of sleep. With any luck, a little rest tonight will get us both on our feet again.
