Make You Go Hmm: » Public restroom gripe department -Things That Make You Go Hmm is one of my daily RSS reads- I really enjoy the articles and recommend the site. A recent article mentioned something silly, but something I’ve talked about with several people before. The topic:

I want to know why people refuse to wash their hands when in public restrooms.

I replied, including my classic comment,

to be quite honest with you, i keep myself clean, and i know that my penis is cleaner than anything in that room.

this is not to say I don’t wash my hands in the rest room- I do– but it grosses me out, and I’m glad I’m not alone in thinking so. I was suprised, however, to see some people complaining about automatic facilities in the restroom. When ProfeC and I were up in Mass. for training, they had the no door, motion sensor everything bathroom in the hotel. Best rest room I ever pee’d in. Check out the site for more- but I must say, I have never washed my hands in any rest room located in a building off a highway… and perhaps, never will.
