Nintendo Wii Takes the Lead
FT.com / Companies / Consumer industries - Nintendo’s Wii takes console lead
Surely most of us saw this one coming. Financial Times aggregated Japanese sales data from Enterbrain, U.S. sales from the NPD group, and European sales data from GfK to determine that the Wii has sold about 9 million units worldwide, versus 8.9 million units sold of its close competitor, the Xbox 360. The PlayStation 3 has sold 3.7 million units.
We have talked about it so many times here on the blog and message board, I feel like a broken record. The Wii is fun, and now the numbers prove it. If I never even purchased another game I would have gotten my money’s worth with Wii Sports. If you’re still thinking about it, stop- just get one and have a good time with your friends and family.
