New on DVD: October 18 2005
holy digital dilema batman! this week belongs to the bat- the dilema being, how will you pay for it, and perhaps a few other goodies hitting the shelves this week? Batman Begins is of course my big pick for the week- see this message board thread for more discussion on this flick. to fuel the hype, we have re-releases of the previous four films– see this thread for our dicussion on that. i say go for the gold an get the set if you don’t already own these. think about it if you do though; just like other re-releases this week, such as the big lebowski’s 2 (pointless?) new editions- in the end you get better digital transfers- but as mentioned in this message board thread, new digital home video technology may be a reason to hold off buying anything twice- for now… but not to be overlooked here, the long anticipated He-Man series debuts on DVD. this is a sure fire winner if you were loving He-Man back in the day. Here’s yet another message board thread talking about the half nekkid dude. Halloween is right around the corner- and just in time we have Romero’s Land of the Dead and Saw (unrated) for your gore hounds. speaking of horror, elektra uncut? for the love of god, why?? all in all, a sweet week for dvd.
