a double shot yet again for our new on dvd this week- it was a rather ‘holiday’ sort of week for me; my apologies! so, what’s capping off the rest of the month? well, we’ll start with the week of the 22. my pick is easily war of the worlds. i have since purchased and watched this twice before posting - i liked the movie more than i thought i would. shoot for the 2 disc if you catch the right sales. there is a monster amount of old king kong discs to fuel the hype for jackson’s latest film hitting theaters, and of course seinfeld seasons 5 & 6. perhaps not to be missed by some, is ran- although i read rumors this transfer is not so great, buyer beware.

for the final shelf date in november, i have to say i’m fairly unimpressed- and you may be too unless you don’t own any of these ‘double dipped’ re-release dvds: the mummy, the muppets, jurrasic park… aside from a few other dectent releases, these are must owns, but chances are you already have the earlier dvd releases if you were interested in these movies from the get go. nevertheless, my favorites for the week are the muppets- i only wish i didn’t own them already so i could be excited to go out and grab them.
