New Footage of JFK in Dallas
Texas is the reason… I ran across this article in my feeds today: New Footage of JFK in Dallas Released. The article does not actually link to the said video, but I easily found it on YouTube as you can see.
Nothing terribly myth shattering here, but still- worth peeking at. There’s an odd feeling when you look into the past. Does that make sense? Given, I wasn’t around in 1963, so be it the mystique or what have you, there’s something that strikes a nerve in me when it comes to stuff like this.
Michelle and I did visit the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas when we went to a wedding in Texas back in 2000. Outside leading in you of course can walk right across the street where it happened, and while most of the repository is an exhibit museum, the space where Oswald fired from, the corner window, is glassed off and preserved. It’s a little weird- when I thought of Dallas, I always thought of another big city. I guess I’m too used to NYC, because Dallas felt like a ghost town by comparison. As you travel through that repository, it does get very emotional- I highly recommend a visit if you ever find yourself in the area.
