Huckabee: Amend Constitution to Reflect God’s Standards

YouTube - Huckabee: Amend Constitution to Reflect God’s Standards. Dude… Do I even need to make a clever remark? I admire conviction, but making this guy president is just completely banana sandwich. Chuck Norris approved or not… vote wisely.

if this doesn’t result in a huge drop in his poll numbers, we’re all f*@#ed!
He will definitley be another Bush, fuck this schmuck!
Damien, this guy makes Bush look liberal.
What ever happened to the separation of church and state? Hello out there!!!
There is no separation with this guy. He’s also made comments about how a wife has to submit to her husband. It’s insanity. Although, maybe I just got him some new supporters with that comment.
Yes, obviously the lack of separation was implied here - what I really wanted to point out was this: he’s gaining popularity, more than any of the other times he ran. We know at least Arkansas (and probably the rest of the bible belt) agree with him- he is after all governor of the state. Common sense would make you think speeches like that would hurt him in the polls- but it’s the opposite right now.
So if enough people start liking this guy, we could see some wacky politics. I seriously doubt we’ll see him as president; and even if we did, there’s still congress (or impeachment) if things get out of control. Or he’ll just take over Americaland. One of the two.
Do you agree with his stance on the issues?

I’m sorry Mike, maybe we should start a thread or something. I never really pay any real attention to the presidential elections until later on (like October). But this politician really has my attention, I really disagree with him and didn’t know it was possible to to dislike someone’s views so much - don’t get me wrong everyone is entitled to their opinions but he is no diffrent from foreigners who dislike our freedoms (dare I say terrorists?)- how can you reverse what we are as a nation? For example his view on marriage
“. . . My personal belief is that marriage is between one man and one woman, for life.”
FOR LIFE - he disagrees with divorce and gay marriage. Okay the gay marriage thing is totally up for debate (BTW I’m on the fence) but to control people’s decision to leave a marriage for another is insane!!!
I can only imagine how Bible Belt America supports this SOB - I guess we will have to stay tuned.
Ah, indeed- but this is a discussion thread! (just outside the message board)… so we can talk about it here and now.
i can relate to not following politics - some people feel they don’t have time- others feel the primaries are not really important to them. Furthermore, many believe it’s all bullshit, their vote doesn’t count anyway, and whatever will be will be. We could debate these notions endlessly, but that’s not the point.
I look at it this way: people fought and died for America’s freedom and democracy, and I honor that by at least having a mild interest / curiosity in the political comings and goings of all those folk on the TV… well, so long as it isn’t Fox.
More importantly, those same people fought and died for the ideals of freedom - so when Huckabee expresses that national laws should reflect his personal belief system, I have to wave my WTF? sign to ensure people are educated and aware.
Sitting on the fence is OK - perhaps the best way to make a decision for yourself is to approach the issue impartially; but ultimately issues like abortion and gay marriage have no right or wrong answers… they hinge upon your personal beliefs. In America, government should not dictate your beliefs. Moral choices should only be guided by law to ensure the system is not abused - and that’s pushing it.
So full circle, how in God’s name is Huckabee still looking like a candidate? I doubt he’ll make it anywhere near a party nomination, but stranger things have happened… so raise your voice.
